אביאל בן שטרית הוא תלמיד דוקטורט במכון לקרימינולוגיה באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים, בהנחייתו של פרופ' ברק אריאל. המחקר שלו עוסק בהיעדרות האב בתקופת הילדות והנעורים והקשר שלה לקריירה עבריינית.
מחקרו מבקש לבחון האם ואילו סוגים ספציפיים של פשיעה עלולים להיות מושפעים יותר מהיעדר דמות אב, בדגש על מעשי רצח.

Aviel Ben Chetrit is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Criminology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, supervised by Prof. Barak Ariel. His research examines paternal absence during childhood and adolescence as a predictor of criminal career. The study aims to explore whether, and which specific types of crime, are influenced by the absence of a father figure, with a particular focus on murder.
